#Regional News: Guwahati, Assam, June 10, 2023 C.M. Himanta Biswa Sarma forms a committee to frame work rules for Student Elections at the College and University levels. C.M. Sarma said that colleges and universities must make changes to prevent obstructions or problems after elections.
C.M. Sarma added that “elections in colleges and universities are important because they play a significant role in students lives, and they get a feel for the democratic process by participating in these elections. Moreover, sometimes it’s seen that the post-election cletrations are violent, which is not tolerated and we don’t want to see”.
However, C.M. Sarma forms a committee to frame work rules for student elections at the college and university levels under the leadership of Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta. This committee reviews election procedures and also determines whether Lyngdoh Committee re-assessment is required or not.
