Though the incident took place on May 4, a video showing two women being paraded naked and sexually molested by a group of men in the violence-hit northeastern state of Manipur went viral on Wednesday (July 19).
Meanwhile, the central government has asked all social media companies to delete the video from their platforms.
Manipur Police on Wednesday said that cases of abduction, gang rape, and murder have been registered at Nongpok Sekmai police station in Thoubal district against unknown armed miscreants. On Thursday, Manipur Police arrested one of the main accused who was seen in the video.
