#National News: Dibrugarh, Assam May 8, 2023 MLA Prasanta Phukan Flag off the DEMU trains serving under the North East Border Railways are reopened today by increasing more movement than before. On this auspicious moment, departmental railway director Mr. Uttam Prakash and various departmental authorities were present with MLA Prasanta Phukan.
Notable that from now on, the DEMU train will cross a total of 22 stations to Murkongselak in a gap of about 3 hours. Will start the journey from Dibrugarh at 9-40 am. We believe that this DEMU train will benefit passengers a lot, especially those below the poor border as they can travel with minimum fare.
DEMU trains are essential for fuel savings and significant advancement in industries, education and healthcare in North-east India’s major city centre and its surrounding areas. We sincerely appreciate this effort by North East Border Railways and we think it is a huge success for North East Border railways.
